Here is a Kukri I have had a long time. It is a MkII type blade, but without the rivets on the handle that the issue MkII has.
Officers had to buy their own kit, including weapons. Not only .455 revolvers.
The markings are H G R, for Hepburn, Gale & Ross. It is dated 1916. I have not seen many of these around, but clearly for a British Ghurka officer.
