A visit to the Burg Hohenzollern
I haven’t written in a very long time. So far, I made a pause with my collection, added to the amount of work, that had, made me to stop writing for a while.
Now I am back the experience, that I had during my holidays. As in the past 3 years, we are spending our holidays in Lake Konstanz (Bodensee). This time, we visited the Burg Hohenzollern.
It is worth the visit, for sure at 100%. If you want to go there (recommended), get the tickets online. They are not cheap, but online, you can get a discount. Even online, a time for the visit is asked, that does not mean, that you cannot stay longer.
It is a royal palace and the visit doesn’t show the whole castle (still used by the Hohenzollern), but it is interesting to see the rooms, statues and paintings. There are also some uniforms, Pickelhauben and medals to be seen and “photographed”. The best is to visit the “treasure room”, where pictures are not allowed. There you can see a uniform from Friedrich the Great and also, plenty of medals, orden and other unique pieces. SPLENDIT. Sorry for the “low class” words, but I wet myself during the visit to the treasure room.
In total, we were in the Castle for around 1,5 hours. Of course, I bought too many things in then shop, as well as some Beers from the Hohenzollern Brewery. It had to be done.
If you are near west of the Bondensee, this Castle and also the Sigmaringen one, will make you day. I swear for the life of Wilhelm IIII.
Hope to write more article in the next few weeks….
