***Antonio Wednesday’s Wonders ***
And another Mini in my collection.
Possibly, this is one of the most common combination of medals in the Imperial Germany, before the start of the First World War.
This miniature button has the following decorations:
– Kriegsdenkmünze für Kämpfer im Kreig gegen Frankreich 1870-1871.
– Landwehr Dienstauszeichnung – Köning Wilhelm III.
– Kaiser Wilhelm I – Zentenarmedaille 1897.
The quality of the „Miniaturkette“ is quite gut.
As I said before, the combination was quite common, but I have to admit, that the most common before WW1 May be the first and the last together. The reason this person received the Zentenarmedaille is because he fought during the Franco-Prussian war of 1870/1871.
One thing about the combination is, that normally the Zentenarmedaille would go before the Dienstauszeichnung one, which in this case, it should have been placed at the end (being the third).
Another thing about this button is, that the Medal 1870/180 shows the reverse of the medal instead the front of it. This is very common to be found in medalbars, miniature chains and buttons. In fact, I came across a foto in Ebay (see source below) with exactly the same combination and exactly the same problem, the reverse in front.
So another one in the collection…. More to go (or so I hope)
