Tores Tuesday. Once again, a bayonet blog.
There have been a few bayonet blogs lately, which I am slightly sorry about, but I have bought quite a few bayonets lately, and some of those are really interesting. There will be more of other things later.
Here is a German S98/05nA, second type, bayonet, made primarily for use on the Kar98A rifle, a short Karabiner primarily used by cavalrymen and artillerymen. However, as the war progressed the Kar98A was distributed to others as well, and these bayonets were more widely distributed. This is, if not very rare then definitely quite scarce, manufactured by J.A. Henckels in 1917. It has the famous twins in the makers mark. These bayonets are not very easy to find as they have not been made in the same numbers as the ‘Butcher’ blade S98/05 bayonets were. So, enjoy.
