The soldier has no cypher or number on the straps. No buttons are visible on the tunic’s sleeves. Other photos in the series depicting what seems to be the same soldier also don’t show any buttons on the sleeves so the tunic might very well be a Bavarian Vereinfachte tunic. Note also the reinforced knee patches, the mountain boots, and what seems to be a dagger.
